Today is the seventh session of the UN's "Chinese day". First, on behalf of the United Nations International Cooperation and Coordination Bureau, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the leaders and guests who came to participate in the celebration.
In 2010, the United Nations Department of public information announced the launch of the United Nations language day. This new initiative aims to promote the use of multiple languages and cultural diversity, and to promote the equal use of the six official languages in the United Nations. The United Nations News Department "Chinese day" in the twenty-four solar term "Guyu", to commemorate the "ancestor of Chinese characters Cangjie making contribution".
Since 2010, the United Nations Department of public information and the permanent mission of China to the United Nations have jointly organized the six "Chinese day" celebrations.
Chinese is one of the oldest, richest and most beautiful languages in the world. The profound and profound Chinese culture is just because of the carrier of Chinese, which has a long history and flourish. In the twenty-first Century, Chinese plays a more and more important role in international communication; "Chinese fever" is in the ascendant in the world. The United Nations decides to celebrate the "Chinese day" celebration. It will further expand the influence of Chinese as the official language of the United Nations, and enable more people to get to know and understand China's long civilization and splendid culture.
Chinese characters are the DNA of Chinese compatriots, and the blood of the Chinese nation. As a Chinese, we should love the mother tongue, learn Chinese and write Chinese characters better, and inherit it from generation to generation.
As the United Nations International Cooperation and Coordination Bureau, we have the duty and obligation to do well in the promotion of Chinese characters and the spread of Chinese culture, and guide the Chinese in the world to learn Chinese characters and Chinese culture, and consciously do the inheritors of Chinese characters and Chinese culture. We will regularly hold exhibitions and lectures and forums on Chinese characters and Chinese culture, making our due contributions to the greater influence of Chinese characters and Chinese culture in the world.
