A strong condemnation of the United Arab assistance mission in Afghanistan for the continued attacks on the judiciary

In May 25, 2016 the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan today issued a statement strongly condemning the day in the western suburbs of Kabul area Dutch act bomb attack. The United Arab assistance mission said the attack led to the death of 11 civilians and 10 injuries. This is the fifteenth attack that has taken place in Afghanistan since this year against the staff of the judiciary.

The United Nations aid mission in Afghanistan said in a statement released on 25 th, a suicide bomber exploded a bomb on a bus carrying local court officials, causing heavy casualties in the car and waiting for the civilian population, including 6 children.

Since this year, the United Arab assistance mission has confirmed 14 attacks against judges, prosecutors and other judicial bodies. The attacks resulted in the death of 9 civilians and 19 injured. In addition, there have been 4 cases of abduction of judicial staff in Afghanistan. The United Arab Assistance Mission stated that Taliban had claimed responsibility for 7 of the attacks.

The United Arab Assistance Mission expressed sincere condolences to families who had lost loved ones in these attacks and wished the injured to recover soon.

The special representative of the Secretary General for Afghanistan affairs and UNAMA (Nicholas Haysom) responsible for the sea said, according to the staff of the judiciary attacks cowardly and violated international humanitarian law. He condemned the attack on the day without reservation, demanded accountability for the perpetrators of the crime, and urged the Afghan authorities to make every effort to ensure the personal safety of the judicial staff. The United Arab Emir reiterates that the international humanitarian law is binding on all the conflicting parties, and explicitly prohibits any attacks on civilians and any indiscriminate attacks, including suicide bombing.
