The Council's delegation met with senior officials such as the president of Somalia, the prime minister, and representatives of non-governmental organizations in Muqdisho on the day of 19. The Council urges the Somali parliament to ratify the electoral model as soon as possible and to hold a general election in August this year. The Egyptian Ambassador to the United Nations Security Council Abner atta said, understanding Somalia face multiple challenges in economy, politics and the fight against terrorism, the Security Council is willing to offer help, but the first step of the country to deal with all of the challenge is to hold elections.
On the 20 day, the Security Council delegation arrived in Nairobi to visit Kenya.
After the end of the visit, the president of the Security Council this month, Abdellatif Aboulatta, Egypt's permanent representative to the United Nations, held a press conference in Nairobi. On the same day, the Security Council met with Kenya President Kenyatta and other members of the cabinet. During the talks, the two sides discussed the issue of terrorism and refugees in East Africa. Abner atta pointed out that the Security Council's message is very clear, admission of refugees is a common responsibility.
